Chocolate, A Cultural Taste and History

Chocolate residue has been detected in pottery from Honduras dating back to 1100 BC. What is it about this delicious food that has captivated and fascinated humans for thousands of years? A study reported by the BBC indicated that melting chocolate in one's mouth produced an increase in brain activity and heart rate that was more intense than that associated with passionate kissing... Perhaps that has something to do with it?

John Scharffenberger has been producing some of the world's finest chocolate since 1996, and he will share his extensive knowledge – and some chocolate! -- with the LiveTalk audience in what is certain to be a sweet presentation.

Sponsored by the Fish Wilson Team of Merrill Lynch financial advisors.
